This painting started as a completely different picture however I was unhappy with it and started to layer colours of paint reds blues, greys and blacks onto the canvas. The original part of the painting is the flowered jacket. I began to see a face as the layers continued and added a collaged eye to it which I then painted in fine detail. The crab claws became the hair bow, I also used a pouring technique  on the canvas until I was happy with the overall composition. Varnished in high gloss. A truly stunning piece even if I say so myself.
It is painted onto MDF board using oils, acrylics and collage, the size is 41x30cm
